Elizabeth's Two Year Old Update

Last week, our sweet Elizabeth turned two

Weight/Length: 30 lbs. 36. inches

Diapers: Size 6 all the time, pull-ups during the day as we're working on potty training

Clothing: Varies by brand -- mostly 2T still but she has a few pairs of 18/24 mo pants that fit. I just started buying 3T so that she'll grow into them. I'm looking forward to packing up her old clothes and saving them for her baby sister!

Favorite Things: Little Mermaid, Minnie Mouse, and her play kitchen

Likes: watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, doing tummy time with her baby sister, blowing fishy kisses, taking baths, playing outside in her new play area, and anything Ariel

Sleep: Sleeps great at night -- usually falls asleep around 7:30pm and wakes up around 7am. We let her look at books on her bed until 8:00am, that way we have some alone time with Katherine. Nap time is from 1:00-4:00 but she rarely sleeps for those three hours. She'll look at books or play with her stuffed animals on her bed. She loves spending quiet time in her room and if she's awake, we rarely even know because she's so quiet in there!

Eating: So picky still! She doesn't eat any meat except the occasional chicken nuggests (only Perdue brand and they have to be the "simply" version). She'll eat any fruit or veggie as long as it's in a pouch. We have the best luck with giving her breakfast -- she'll eat eggs, pancakes, toast, yogurt and granola, oatmeal, cheerios with milk, fruit, etc. She loves eating cheese and crackers, goldfish, and fruit snacks. She doesn't eat a lot of cookies, chips, or anything that's unhealthy because she has to learn to like the healthy stuff first!

Health: After many illnesses her first year, she had a VERY healthy school year and a great summer! We made it on two airplane rides and a vacation without any colds or anything! Prayers this continues since she just started part-time at pre-k! She did have her flu shot last week though! :)

Favorite Books:
The Little Mermaid, Snow White, any ABC book

Vacations: Buffalo

Talking- She's a quiet one! She's still only saying one word at a time and hasn't formed two word sentences yet. I'm a little concerned so she has a speech evaluation next week with the Early Intervention program!
School- She just started in a part-time pre-k 2 program on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Big girl bed- This mama refused to have two cribs, so we transitioned her the day we brought her baby sister home from the hospital. It was a PERFECT transition and she has yet to get out of bed! :) She is so content on her bed with her books and her stuffed animals!
Potty Training - It's a work in progress. We started last weekend and she went pee pee on the potty three times. She knows to tell us when she's wet or has to pee, but we don't make it to the bathroom on time. She also took off her diaper during her naptime last weekend and peed on her bed. Rookie mistake there -- daddy learned she now needs pull-ups at naptime! :)

Mama Thoughts:
I'm so proud of my sweet little Elizabeth -- it was such a rough transition for her after Katherine was born. She went from being the center of attention to having to share it. She really has done a great job helping me though -- she gets things for me while I'm taking care of her baby sister. Elizabeth is such a sweet girl, who loves smiling and giggling. She's recently started becoming a snuggler and I LOVE IT! We snuggled on the couch earlier this afternoon and I just wanted to melt! I know she'll have a great year being a two year old! She is also SUCH a great big sister, always making sure Katherine is okay. It's adorable!
