Blogmas Day 3: Christmas Tree Reveal

I utterly love our Christmas tree. The ornaments are a combination of ornaments passed down to me from my mom, ornaments that my mom and dad purchased for me as I grew up, and ornaments given to me by my husband.  They all tell a story and are very near and dear to my heart.

This year, since we have a toddler, we had to be very strategic with placing ornaments on the tree. Since my parents were in town recently, I enlisted the help of my mom since she's so good at hanging them perfectly. We decided to keep all the toddler-friendly ornaments on the bottom half of the tree in hopes it would keep our little Elizabeth from grabbing the fancy and breakable ones.

That idea worked like a charm didn't it!?!?!

Here are some photos of our tree and some of my favorite ornaments! :)

Lots of ornaments that all tell a story!

We bought this after we moved into our house!

I love our tree!

  1. I love it! Every year we buy a new ornament that each kid picks out. Then we buy a family ornament that reminds us of something from that year. So our tree is FULL of tourist trap ornaments (We bought a Wall Drug and plastic buffalo from last year's trip to South Dakota). It's something we've done since Matt and I had our first Christmas WAY back in 2002. :)

  7. The story is my favorite part of ornaments. Now I love hearing my kids tell their ornament series as they pull theirs out!

  9. I love hearing about the meaning certain ornamentshave for people, so many have stories to tell! I haven't had nice ornaments on the bottom part of my tree for the last 6 years (there's always been a toddler around!)

  10. It's beautiful!! I'm so sad because somehow I misplaced my ornaments from my childhood :( I'm hoping and praying I'll find them in a box in the garage someday!! I totally love the history and sentimental value of special Christmas ornaments! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  11. It's beautiful. This year, since it's the first year without a gate around the trees, I decided not to hang any ornaments. My twins are very destructive, so maybe they'll go up next year. At least I'm hopeful!
