Baby's First Trip To The Park

In my Five on Friday post this week, I mentioned that I was super excited about taking Elizabeth to the park for a picnic this weekend. Thankfully I woke up this morning feeling like I was no longer swallowing knives, so heading to the park was a go! Since JB woke up at 4:45 this morning for a bottle (say what!?!?! She MUST have been confused with wake-up time), we didn't need to bother with a bottle before we left. Once she got up, we played for a little bit, gave her some of her favorite Yo Baby banana yogurt, and headed on over to the park.

Lots of mama's in the Northdale/Carrollwood area take their little ones to the Northdale Recreation Center and I can now see why! The property is very well maintained, there's a safe playground, lots of open green fields for playtime, trees that provided shade, as well as public restrooms. There is even a little workout area! We set up a blanket and laid out some of her favorite toys. She loved it!

JB has always loved being outside - as an infant, I would walk her around the block all the time. But since getting her helmet, we haven't gone outside much - mainly because it's too hot, and both of us suffer from wicked allergies. It was so nice to be outside in the fresh air, before it got too hot! Plus we were pretty much the only ones at the park. There were a few older people working out and that's it! So quiet, so peaceful!

I did have high expectations of having a little outdoor photoshoot, but JB's in that stage where she doesn't sit still, so I took a few candid shots and just enjoyed the rest of the time outside with her! We were there for about 40 minutes before she started to get fussy because she was hungry. Rather than give her a bottle there, we decided just to pack up and head home so we could put her down for a nap. Mom and dad win! She ended up taking a 2-and-a-half-hour nap! Woot, woot! Park play time for the win!!!

Here's some pictures from our first park visit!

We are so looking forward to more trips to the park this summer! :) I have a game plan of stopping to get coffee, bringing her breakfast, and just enjoying the summer mornings outside!

Enjoy what's left of your weekend everyone!
