Sweet Saturday Series ~ Songs That Say "I Love You"

My husband and I just celebrated our "dating" anniversary (7 years on March 1st). Okay, so really, I didn't even bring it up to him, so technically we didn't do anything romantic. Now that we're married, there's really no reason to celebrate a dating anniversary when we get to celebrate the most beautiful day of our lives (July 21st). But, it got me thinking about how much love we have for each other.  Throughout the years we dated before getting married, we would do all sorts of romantic things for each other - writing love notes to each other and putting them in lunch bags, going on date nights, and even making love song CDs for our cars. It was the little things like that that brought us so close together.

Things are different now that we're married and have a baby.  We often don't take the time to do these romantic things for each other. I blame exhaustion and the desire to sleep rather than go on a date. Or when we do go on a date, one (or both) of us is thinking about Elizabeth and how she's doing. Honestly, we haven't had many dates since JB was born and that is the reason that I'm starting this "Sweet Saturday Series". I want to find ways to let my husband know how much I love him. That I love him even when all I want to do is go to bed the second Elizabeth goes down for the night. Or that as much as I love cooking dinner, I just want to order out. It's not that I feel like a "bad wife". I just feel like I need to focus more on OUR relationship and ways to still be romantic, even though we're both exhausted.

So for the first post in this series, I decided to make a top 10 list of the songs that I feel say "I Love You". Some of these are songs that have been on CDs that we've made for each other. Others are songs that I've recently heard on the radio while driving. I plan on making a mix CD of these songs for my husband this weekend and sneaking it into his car before he heads to work Monday morning. That way it'll be a sweet surprise for him! :)
