Naptime Blues

I find it so ironic that the day after I post about how awesome JB has been sleeping at night, she wakes up earlier than usual. Luckily she fell asleep on the bottle and we were able to get her back into her crib for another 75 minutes of sleep. This was probably a good thing because she is giving mama the naptime blues today.

We've had a hectic morning and I attribute that to the reason why she takes first place in being a no nap ninja. Even though I have a calendar to keep track of all of JB's appointments (PT, chiropractor, orthotist...), I missed yesterday's chiro appointment - there was a miscommunication when I rescheduled her visit and apparently I heard only what I wanted to hear, LOL. Luckily they were able to squeeze her in this morning (but mama has to wait until next week for her appointment) at 9:30. Her appointments at the chiro are super fast. We were home by 10am so I decided what a perfect opportunity for a quick nap.

FAIL. Fail, fail, fail!

I tried tricking her by giving her a small little bottle and then putting her into her crib. She wasn't having it. I ended up getting her out of crib, changing a poopy diaper, and then giving her the rest of her bottle. I was disappointed because I knew not having a morning nap would mess up the rest of the day and she had an appointment with the orthotist at 11:30am.

So, of course, she falls asleep in the car on the way to the orthotist, so that was a 20-minute cat nap. She fell asleep on the way home again for about 15 minutes. But I don't even consider those naps. In fact, that are nap-stealers because she rarely naps AFTER sleeping in the car. Even when I'm swift in getting her out of car seat. I wasn't so swift today because when I unbuckled her, she opened her eyes, smiled, and wanted to play. FAIL.

When we got home, I knew not even to try putting her into her crib without a bottle. And TWO diaper changes. GIRLFRIEND LOVES TO PEE! Hahaha! After quite the struggle, a frustrated mama, she finally started to get sleepy around 1:15 (I attempted to lay her down earlier but she literally was trying to sit up from the laying position... and she is oh-so-close.) At 1:25 I laid her in her crib and she talked to herself for about 10 minutes before falling asleep.

I had a yogurt earlier for lunch but I was starving. Plus I hadn't had a cup of coffee yet, so I busted out a bowl of cheerios and a pumpkin spice k-cup. I was desperate for caffeine since I don't have any other k-cups that have caffeine. It's still sitting next to me. Apparently my love for pumpkin coffee is nonexistent during the spring. It just tastes gross to me. Blech!

Anyways, that's my story of naptime blues today. Hopefully she continues her nap because she needs the sleep. And I need a few more minutes of relaxation!

Enjoy the rest of your day!
